Great local business community for local entrepreneurs
Another priority was to create a working 'community'; that could offer both practical and emotional support to the lone worker starting out in business for the first time. Quite often it is the loneliness of self-employment that is the hardest thing to manage if you come from a huge open plan environment.
A great place to work
The success of The Business Exchange has been rapid. By February 2001 80% of the workspaces had been occupied and a few tenants had already upgraded by taking and additional office or moving to a larger one. Since then occupancy levels have been maintained at between 90% and 100%.
There is a great entrepreneurial spirit with many companies doing business together either cross-trading or collaborating on larger projects.
